For Rasheedah and Jeffrey, love didn’t arrive quietly, it made an entrance. What began as a chance encounter at a mutual friend’s rooftop birthday party in 2018 quickly unfolded into something deeper. From their first conversation to an impromptu selfie that would later feel prophetic, there was an ease and electricity between them from the very beginning.

Ceremony at Metropolitan AME Church

There’s something profoundly moving about witnessing a couple say “I do” in a space that holds their shared history. Metropolitan AME Church, the spiritual home of Rasheedah and Jeffrey, offered a meaningful setting for their ceremony.

With its historic architecture and powerful sense of presence, the church was a natural choice. As guests arrived, they were greeted by soft florals that framed the aisle with elegance, creating a gentle contrast to the grandeur of the space. One of the most unforgettable moments came as a close friend and trained opera singer performed “Ave Maria” while Rasheedah walked down the aisle. This emotional tribute brought tears to more than a few eyes.

The ceremony itself was both heartfelt and reverent. Together, the couple honored their loved ones with a candle-lighting tribute and exchanged vows in front of 130 of their closest friends and family.

This was a celebration rooted not only in love, but in legacy, offering a moment of stillness, connection, and deep spiritual joy before the festivities began.

Rasheedah captured perfectly with the words, “This is exactly what we wanted.” The design centered around white florals, refined table settings, and soft candlelight. These details complemented the Cosmos Club’s red drapery and gold accents beautifully.

Once guests were seated, the newlyweds shared their first dance. Touching parent dances and heartfelt speeches followed soon after.
