When it comes to milestone events, we love celebrating families through design that feels both personal and unforgettable. For the Ogunwole family, we had the honor of planning their second baby shower to welcome their little girl. We worked together a few years ago to celebrate their first baby boy. Now, we felt so honored to return to bring their design to life for baby number two. This time, Michelle and Bode had a vision of a co-ed, kid-friendly baby in bloom baby shower. Additionally, they wanted their celebration to be rooted in love, joy, and new beginnings.

Hosted at their home, this backyard transformation featured lush floral details, playful photo moments, and experiences designed for every guest. Whether they were little ones enjoying games or adults sipping signature cocktails and creating bouquets, there was something for everyone. The result was a celebration that balanced elegance with fun. It reminded everyone that family events can be just as stylish as they are heartfelt.

Before we share all the beautiful details, a quick reminder that at Jayne Heir, no detail is ever too small. If you’re searching for Washington wedding and event planners who will go the extra mile to create a luxurious and elevated experience, learn more about working with our team here.

Transforming the Backyard Into a Baby in Bloom Celebration

From the moment guests arrived, it was clear this baby in bloom baby shower would be unforgettable. Right away, they were greeted by the gift table featuring a striking balloon installation paired with a maternity portrait. There were also adorable mini fans available to guests as favors. In the backyard, every detail was designed to delight. We incorporated cascading floral arrangements in vibrant hues, playful balloon arches, and chic lounge seating in bold pink velvet. Beneath the tent, tables were dressed with floral vases and modern white seating. Our goal was to blend elegance with whimsy to create a true garden party atmosphere. Guests mingled, snapped photos, and soaked in a space that felt both luxurious and joyful.

The transformation proved that a backyard can be just as stylish and immersive as any venue. With intentional design and thoughtful details, Michelle and Bode’s celebration offered a seamless mix of beauty and fun. It was the perfect way to set the stage for everything that followed.

Fun for Kids and Families

Michelle and Bode wanted their baby in bloom baby shower to feel like a celebration for everyone—kids included. The backyard became a playground of color and joy with activities designed to keep little ones entertained all afternoon. From a bounce house to sack races, and a igloo bubble tent, there was no shortage of fun.

The thoughtful blend of family-friendly entertainment and stylish design made the shower feel warm, inclusive, and memorable. Guests of all ages found something to enjoy, creating an atmosphere that reflected the parent’s values: love, community, and celebration. With the kids happily occupied, the adults could fully savor the next round of festivities.

Elevated Food & Drink Experiences

As the kids played, guests mingled, snapped photos, and enjoyed trays of flavorful hors d’oeuvres paired with signature cocktails. Servers passed bites like fried green tomatoes topped with vegan artichoke salad and chicken skewers finished with pineapple salsa. Each plate delivered bold flavors and vibrant presentation.

Lunch carried a Caribbean theme that reflected Michelle and Bode’s heritage and love of good food. Guests chose from dishes like jerk chicken, blackened salmon, collard greens, and coconut lime rice. Signature cocktails and mocktails mirrored the cheerful color palette, adding another thoughtful layer to this baby in bloom baby shower.

Interactive & Memorable Guest Moments

The celebration didn’t just look beautiful, it gave guests ways to connect and create lasting memories. A floral bar let friends and family handpick blooms to build their own arrangements. Additionally, the gelato station became another favorite, serving scoops in adorable pink pots with decadent toppings. Guests also left with thoughtful thank-you gifts tucked into blush bags. The gifts include sugar cookies and custom details that tied back to the baby in bloom baby shower theme.

As the evening came to a close, the DJ hyped everyone up as they joined together for a dance party. The joy and energy were undeniable. It was the perfect ending to a day filled with love, laughter, and thoughtful details that made everyone feel celebrated.
