An intimate wedding is a beautiful opportunity for couples to focus on what matters most—each other, their closest people, and the details that make the day feel uniquely theirs. With a smaller guest list and a clear vision, Julia and Caroline’s Goodstone Inn wedding embraced every moment with warmth, style, and authenticity. Caroline wore a navy tailored suit while Julia stunned in a chic blazer dress, each look reflecting their unique style. From moody winter florals to a candlelit reception that felt like a dream, every detail had purpose.

Because of the intimate scale, we were able to create a wedding day that felt deeply personal to the couple and meaningful to everyone in attendance. At Jayne Heir, we’re passionate about transforming thoughtful visions into unforgettable celebrations. If you’re planning your own wedding or event, we’d love to connect with you. A Love-Filled Start to the Year

A wedding in early January brings a special kind of magic. The new year is just beginning, the world feels still and reflective, and there’s an undeniable sense of anticipation in the air. For Julia and Caroline, this timing made perfect sense. Surrounded by their closest loved ones and the rolling, frost-dusted hills of Middleburg, their Goodstone Inn wedding unfolded like a storybook.

The day began with quiet, joy-filled moments. Inside the cozy suites of the Goodstone Inn, Caroline dressed in a sharp navy double-breasted suit and black-and-white sneakers—a look that radiated both sophistication and ease. Julia glowed in a modern white blazer dress and chic satin heels, effortlessly balancing bridal tradition with contemporary flair.

Their first look was intimate and sweet, set against the warm wood paneling of a private room. The way they smiled at each other said everything. There was no need for grand gestures—just authenticity, confidence, and deep love.

Getting Ready with the Ones Who Matter Most

One of the most heartwarming parts of this Goodstone Inn wedding was how centered it was around community. Julia and Caroline didn’t just get ready with friends; they laughed, embraced, and celebrated with their people. It was clear that every guest present played a meaningful role in their journey.

The getting-ready spaces were full of color and personality. From friends in bold jewel tones to friends dressed in classic black, everyone brought their unique flair. The energy was playful and supportive—exactly the kind of vibe that sets the tone for a truly unforgettable day.

Florals and Details that Felt Like Them

Julia’s bouquet was one of the most striking design elements of the wedding. A sculptural mix of burgundy anthurium and trailing amaranthus offered a cool, unconventional twist on tradition. It felt bold, elevated, and reflective of the couple’s modern sensibility. The floral choices throughout the celebration added drama and edge.

Designed by our team at Jayne Heir Weddings & Events, the reception space was pure magic! Long tables set under a glowing tent filled with string lights and cascading greenery. Navy velvet linens, amber glassware, and candlelit taper holders created an atmosphere that felt both regal and inviting. As the night unfolded, lush centerpieces featuring deep red and plum tones, pomegranates, grapes, moss, and figs evoked the feeling of an opulent, old-world feast—one that still felt fresh and timeless.

Every detail, from the custom menus to the rose-tied napkins and wood-toned chargers, was thoughtfully curated by our team to bring warmth and layered texture to the moody, romantic palette. The result was a reception that was as unforgettable as it was beautiful.

A First Dance to Remember

As the sun set and guests gathered inside the candlelit tent, Julia and Caroline shared their first dance on a black-and-white checkered floor—a chic, modern nod that grounded the space visually. With bistro lights twinkling above them and friends watching from elegant velvet lounges, the moment felt surreal.

The atmosphere was dreamy, intimate, and filled with reverence for the love these two share. In that moment, it was clear this wasn’t just a celebration—it was a declaration.

Toasts, Bubbles, and Unexpected Moments

No Goodstone Inn wedding would be complete without a few fun surprises. At one point during the evening, the couple poured champagne over a tower of coupes, their expressions a perfect mix of elegance and goofiness. It’s this blend of playfulness and intention that made their celebration so magnetic.

As the evening progressed, the dance floor filled quickly. Guests lit up the space with glow sticks and uninhibited moves. Sneakers and satin dresses mingled in motion. Hats were passed around. Bottles were raised. Laughter echoed under the twinkling canopy. The whole celebration was alive.

Julia eventually swapped her heels for cozy boots, a detail that perfectly embodied the tone of the evening—stylish but never uncomfortable, luxurious but always personal.

A Wedding Rooted in Connection

One of the most beautiful things about this Goodstone Inn wedding was how intentionally we were able to plan it alongside Julia and Caroline. At Jayne Heir Weddings & Events, we worked closely with them to design a day that felt deeply personal and true to who they are. There were no forced traditions or performances—every detail was chosen with meaning, from the aesthetic to the timeline, the guest list to the menu.

From getting ready surrounded by laughter, to sharing a rich meal under candlelight, to dancing beneath a sky of lights, every moment was thoughtfully curated to celebrate their partnership. Their deep connection was the true centerpiece—and everything we helped create was designed to honor and amplify that love.

Why a Goodstone Inn Wedding is Always a Good Idea

Nestled in the countryside of Middleburg, the Goodstone Inn is the kind of venue that invites intimacy and intentionality. With its charming architecture, elegant interiors, and stunning views of Virginia wine country, it’s ideal for couples seeking something that feels both romantic and relaxed.

A Goodstone Inn wedding allows you to design an experience that unfolds slowly, organically—surrounded by nature, good food, and your favorite people. It’s a space that feels private but not too far removed, luxurious yet inviting. Whether in the warmth of summer or the quiet beauty of winter, it’s a destination that never stops inspiring.

Designing Moments That Matter

At Jayne Heir, we don’t just design weddings—we create experiences rooted in personal storytelling. Julia and Caroline’s Goodstone Inn wedding was a perfect example of our approach: deeply considered, boldly styled, and filled with the kind of joy that stays with you long after the last song plays.

We are endlessly honored to work with couples like Julia and Caroline, who trust us to bring their unique vision to life. From designing meaningful spaces to moments that matter, we are here to celebrate love in all its beautiful forms.

If you’re dreaming of your own Goodstone Inn wedding, or a celebration anywhere in the DC or Virginia region, we would love to hear from you. Reach out to learn more about working with us—and let’s begin creating something unforgettable.
