Classic Garden Romance at this Ritz Carlton DC Wedding

Simone and Jacob’s Ritz Carlton DC wedding was beyond magical, and we can’t wait to share it on the blog today. Inspired by a feeling of classic garden romance, we designed something truly timeless with our signature touch of DC glam. If you like what you see (and we are confident that you will!), we would love to hear from you and discuss your wedding day vision and how the team at Jayne Heir can help make it a reality. Connect with us directly here. Or, come find us over on Instagram for even more DC and NYC wedding inspiration (we travel!).

Here’s just a sneak peek of what you’ll find scrolling through this stunning DC wedding feature on the blog today.

An Iconic DC Wedding

We’ve been eager to share photos from Simone and Jacob’s Ritz Carlton DC wedding, but we need to start with photos of their stunning wedding details and iconic first-look location. Simone looked like a VISION: absolutely flawless from head to toe, and Jacob looked just as dapper in his sharp black tuxedo. They met on the steps of one of the most recognized Washington DC monuments and the rest is history.

Setting the Mood for the Ceremony

The ceremony space felt intimate and cozy, as guests gathered in ready to watch Simone and Jacob exchange their vows. Despite the size of the space, we used sheets to create the feeling of a grand entrance and anchored the ceremony altar with white pillars holding floral centerpieces without making any element feel as though it overpowered the space.

Timeless Secret Garden Wedding Reception

In order for you to fully appreciate the timeless glam of Simone and Jacob’s wedding reception, we should probably share photos from every angle…

Greeting guests was a modern and minimal seating chart (organized by last name so guests could quickly find their tables). From there, you truly felt like you entered into another world, as this Ritz Carlton DC wedding venue was transformed into a secret garden that was filled with stunning and intricate details from every angle. To top it off, we loved infusing moodier elements like the black ghost chairs, pops of dark burgundy florals, and black flatware to make their classic wedding feel modern without sacrificing the classic romance. The moss on the sides of the table added texture and an unexpected touch as well!

The Wedding Bar Seen Across the ‘Gram

If Simone and Jacob’s “Pour Decision” Bar looks familiar, you’ve probably seen it on Instagram. It went viral last year as couples everywhere loved the modern, yet fun, design. The black sleekness of the bar paired with the lush greenery and floral installation was the perfect fit for Simone and Jacob’s indoor garden romance vibe.

Tell us: what would you order? A Classic Whiskey Sour for him or a Playful Hibiscus Prickly Pear Margarita for her? We love when mixologists create unique signature cocktails for our couples. Whether you would keep it classic or enjoy trying something new, these were both delish.

While we highly recommend scrolling to the end of the post for the full vendor list that made this stunning Ritz Carlton DC wedding possible, we wanted to share that the design for this bar was a custom collaboration between Jayne Heir, Emily Baird Design, Sophie Felts, Something Vintage, and The Lightsource Company. It truly takes a village (but don’t worry – we bring the village!).

Reception Reveal

While I have many favorite moments on a wedding day, nothing fuels my soul or lights me up more than seeing my couple’s faces light up seeing their reception space come to life for the first time. Simone and Jacob took in every single detail as they walked around the reception space. They took a moment for a private dance to soak it all in. These moments are truly some of the most rewarding as a full-service wedding planner and designer and trust me when I say – I was soaking it all up with them.

An Intimate Garden Wedding Reception at the Ritz Carlton DC

Lighting goes a long way to set the ambiance of a space. We took special care to ensure their modern design would have a warmth to the space to ensure their guests felt comfortable enough to enjoy the wedding we worked so hard to create! Simone and Jacob were an absolute dream to work with from start to finish and while I loved being a part of their wedding day vision, I know that their love story is truly just beginning.
