Weddings that blend culture, personal history, and breathtaking design always leave a lasting impression. Tuedy and Ked’s wedding at The View at Bluemont was a celebration of deep love, meaningful heritage, and elevated details, with one of the most unforgettable ceremony backdrops we’ve ever created.
From the beginning, the couple had a clear vision: to honor their Ethiopian and Jamaican roots while surrounding guests with beauty, joy, and intention. Set against the rolling hills of Bluemont, Virginia, the venue offered the perfect canvas. From a 30-foot floral arch to thoughtful cultural moments, every detail spoke to who they are.
At Jayne Heir Weddings & Events, we specialize in curating events that feel like an extension of our clients’ stories. For this couple, that meant designing a luxurious, multicultural experience with two days of celebration, bold color, and heartfelt connection. Their wedding was recently featured in BRIDES, and we’re honored to now share more of the magic here.
Tuedy and Ked welcomed guests to The View at Bluemont with a calm and intentional start to the celebration. Surrounded by panoramic views and rolling hills, the welcome hour allowed guests to take in the beauty of the setting while enjoying light refreshments and warm hospitality.
During this time, the couple shared a private first look. It was an emotional, quiet moment before the day unfolded.
This hour created space for connection. It gave the couple a chance to breathe, be present, and prepare for what was to come. Set against one of Virginia’s most stunning backdrops, this opening moment felt both relaxed and deeply meaningful.
Guests transitioned to the ceremony, where breathtaking views of Virginia greeted them. The hilltop setting at The View at Bluemont offered a sweeping backdrop of green hills and open sky which was serene, cinematic, and perfect for the vows to come.
Garden-inspired blooms in soft blush, ivory, and French blue lined the aisle. The 30-foot floral arch, overflowing with over 10,000 roses and layered greenery, immediately captured every guest’s attention. It was a floral installation unlike anything we’ve created before.
Tuedy walked the aisle in two parts—alone, and then with her father. She and Ked exchanged heartfelt vows beneath the floral arch, surrounded by emotion, love, and the people who mattered most.
Following the ceremony, guests transitioned into cocktail hour where the celebration became even more personal. Signature cocktails, like spicy margaritas and espresso martinis, paid tribute to the couple’s first date. For food, they offered a flavorful mix of Jamaican patties and Ethiopian samosas, honoring their shared heritage with intention.
The reception space was designed to feel light, romantic, and luxurious. Soft blush and French blue linens anchored the tablescapes. Centerpieces varied in height and texture, featuring roses, hydrangeas, and seasonal blooms. Crystal vases and candelabras reflected the ballroom’s chandeliers, creating a cohesive glow throughout the space.
Every corner had a story. Guests found their seats using a custom illustration of The View at Bluemont, complete with the couple drawn in front. Matching visuals appeared on the bars, which were wrapped in personalized patterns and adorned with fresh florals.
The couple’s first dance took place beneath glowing lights and full hearts. A live band played as the dance floor filled. From heartfelt speeches to the four-tier cake and second bridal look, every moment felt intentional. Tuedy and Ked didn’t just plan a wedding, they planned an experience guests will never forget.
The day after the wedding, Tuedy and Ked hosted a Melse, a traditional Ethiopian celebration filled with culture, music, and meaning. Over 350 guests gathered in cocktail and Habesha attire to continue the weekend.
The couple wore traditional Ethiopian garments, including a Kaba, an embroidered cape layered over their formal attire. The room was alive with energy. From Ethiopian dance troupes to the warm buzz of conversation, every detail reflected deep cultural roots.
Guests shared food, exchanged blessings, and honored family. The space was full of people, of joy, and of heritage passed down with intention.
Extending the celebration into a full weekend allowed the couple to celebrate who they are, not just as a couple, but as part of something greater. It was a beautiful way to end a meaningful weekend at The View at Bluemont, surrounded by legacy, love, and community.
Tuedy and Ked’s wedding at The View at Bluemont was a celebration of love, culture, and unforgettable design. From their emotional first look to the joyful Melse the following day, every moment was layered with intention and heart.
