Weddings that celebrate culture, creativity, and personal expression always leave a lasting impression. Keturah and Randolph’s wedding at The Hidden Oaks was a vibrant celebration of love, identity, and unforgettable design. With bold tropical colors, meaningful fashion, and immersive travel-inspired details, their day was anything but ordinary.
From the start, the couple had a clear vision: to bring their favorite destinations to life while honoring their Caribbean roots and personal style. Set at one of Richmond’s most beautiful new venues, The Hidden Oaks offered the perfect backdrop. From the lush outdoor ceremony to a custom-built airport-inspired escort wall, every element reflected their story.
At Jayne Heir Weddings & Events, we believe the best celebrations are deeply personal and design-driven. For this couple, that meant creating a luxurious wedding experience that felt bold, joyful, and entirely their own. We’re thrilled to now share a closer look at the magic we created together.

Nestled just outside of Richmond, The Hidden Oaks offered a serene and modern backdrop for Keturah and Randolph’s late fall wedding. With floor-to-ceiling windows and lush, green landscaping, the venue felt like an extension of the couple’s vibrant vision.
The ceremony took place on the front lawn beneath a custom-built structure standing eight feet tall. Adorned with oversized tropical blooms, including monstera leaves, orchids, and roses, the installation added drama and depth. The color palette of lime, orchid, and black popped beautifully against the natural setting.
As guests arrived, they were greeted by the striking florals, the November sun, and the palpable excitement in the air. The couple exchanged vows in front of their loved ones, framed by bold color and the warmth of the late-afternoon light. It was a ceremony full of presence, intention, and joy.

When it came to fashion, Keturah made a statement from the moment she stepped out. She wore a custom gown by Jean Ralph Thurin, a celebrated African American bridal designer based in New Jersey. The dress featured a stunning cape that cascaded to the ground, transforming into a dramatic train.
But what made her gown truly special was the detail hidden inside. Sewn close to her heart was a patch of fabric from her grandmother’s wedding dress, shaped into a heart. It was a quiet, powerful tribute to legacy and love, one of many thoughtful moments woven into the day.
Randolph wore a custom tuxedo by Brian Alexander Bespoke, exuding classic style with a personal edge. Together, they looked not only elegant but entirely themselves. They were confident, joyful, and deeply connected.

The Hidden Oaks offered the perfect backdrop for a wedding that celebrated adventure, personal style, and bold creativity. As guests entered the reception space, they were welcomed with one of the most talked-about design moments of the day: a fully custom escort wall inspired by the couple’s love of travel.
The experience was anything but ordinary. The couple “checked in” their guests through a bespoke airport-themed installation that doubled as a visual and interactive feature:
It was an immersive moment that brought everyone into the experience and The Hidden Oaks was the perfect setting to bring this elevated vision to life.

After the ceremony, guests transitioned into a reception that felt like a destination in itself. The Hidden Oaks transformed into a vibrant, immersive space that combined tropical elegance with playful nods to the couple’s love of food, music, and travel.
Every detail told a story:
The design felt elevated, effortless, and entirely reflective of who Keturah and Randolph are as a couple.

At Jayne Heir Weddings & Events, we don’t just plan weddings, we create experiences that reflect who our couples are at their core. For Keturah and Randolph, that meant guiding every detail with intention: from a bold color palette and cultural elements to immersive guest moments and travel-inspired design.
The result? A seamless, unforgettable celebration that felt cohesive, creative, and deeply personal. The Hidden Oaks provided the perfect backdrop, and with thoughtful direction, every detail came to life beautifully.
