If you are considering a wedding at The Line Hotel in DC, chances are you are as charmed by this unique boutique-style hotel as we are. As Washington DC wedding planners, we can never get enough of the picturesque rooftop views. Last fall, we had the chance to work with Courtney and David to plan and design a romantic, yet modern black and white wedding and we have been waiting to share more about it ever since. The photos are in – and they are absolutely incredible. If you have been waiting for elegant wedding inspiration in DC, this wedding is sure to fill your Pinterest board.
The invitations, the black bridesmaid dresses, the over-the-top white florals, and the greenery that surrounded the day. Everything came together to create an absolutely incredible wedding day. Courtney and David both got ready at The Line Hotel which was the perfect setting to kick off their wedding day (and had what felt like unlimited dreamy photo locations – both for getting ready and for their more formal wedding portraits!).
More than beautiful, this wedding day was filled with so much joy. Seriously, scroll down to see their wedding party reaction to Courtney and David’s first look! Absolutely epic. We love to plan weddings as cheerful as they are aesthetically curated. This gorgeous wedding at The Line Hotel was a perfect example.
For Courtney and David’s wedding ceremony, we chose to really lean into the minimalistic and modern aesthetic they craved for their wedding day. We blended an abundance of classic white florals with candles and clear lucite chairs to create a clean and romantic aesthetic. It also made the room feel more spacious for their guest count! I loved the way we mixed both classic and ultra-modern wedding elements to create something completely unique and curated to Courtney and David. The result was simply stunning.
When searching for a DC wedding venue, often couples can’t help but be drawn to the rooftop at The Line Hotel. Although we kept the cocktail hour design consistent with their overall clean and minimalistic vibe, because the space was separate from the ceremony and reception locations, we were also able to add some playful touches – like the colorful lounge furniture and a signature cocktail at the outdoor bar.
There were so many details that I loved about Courtney and David’s wedding reception at The Line Hotel, but one of the first that comes to mind is their custom Nike Air Force One’s that sat at their sweetheart table. It was adorable! For their reception design, we kept to a modern black and white wedding color palette, made possible with an abundance of white florals and greenery from Wander and Whimsy Floral (who did an absolutely phenomenal job!). The band, Top 5 DC, also did an incredible job of keeping the dance floor packed all night! Looking back, it truly always takes a village to pull off a flawless wedding day and this team was definitely it. Make sure to scroll to the end for a list of the DC wedding vendors!
Overall, you can probably tell that we absolutely loved helping Courtney and David plan their wedding at The Line Hotel and are already counting down the days until we work at this gorgeous DC wedding venue again.
