An Opulent ‘Galentines Day’ Birthday Brunch

Last year was a year of extensive growth, pivoting, hard work, discovery, and recovery. As I walked into my birthday celebration this year, I was grateful for it ALL. So many of the things I had been trusting God for manifested in my life in a beautiful way, so after not formally celebrating my birthday for the past few years due to the pandemic, I finally decided to go for it!

With that said, it was hard to create something designed to just celebrate myself, though (even as DC event planners – we struggle!). Naturally, I decided to go BIG with the occasion and turn it into a huge celebration with all of the ladies who have been a part of my life’s transitions over the last few years that have helped me get to where I am today. I can’t wait to share all of the details of this opulent “Galentines Day” birthday brunch with you today!

DC Event Planners Planning a Galentines Day Brunch

I think Elle Woods would have fit right into this gorgeous yet elevated design. We went over the top with pink and red hues, and added personalized elements like place cards on the glasses and stunning floral centerpieces. You truly felt surrounded by love from the moment you entered the room, which was exactly how I wanted my guests to feel. It came together perfectly with the help of an absolutely dynamic vendor team (make sure to scroll to the end for credits).

Oh My Gal Photo Backdrop

It’s 2023, and every event needs a show-stopping photo opp or a selfie station. For our special occasion, we spared no expense in creating the “Oh My Gal” arch backdrop surrounded by a stunning balloon installation that wowed guests as they entered. Every detail was taken into consideration. We even included heart-shaped candy-inspired cutouts with letters, adding a playful touch to the decor.

Signature Cocktails

As DC Event Planners, we know that no detail is EVER too small. The bar details here were absolutely perfect, thanks to our friends Wilori Lane and DJ Max Powers. Personally, we always find the bar to be one of our favorite opportunities to glam up your event! It’s the smaller details such as cocktail napkins and drink stirrers that enhance the bar experience (and wow your guests as they grab a cocktail!).

A Feminine Event Dress Code

The dress code was clear: Red, Pink or Black! These ladies understood the assignment. Each woman brought her unique sense of style, showcasing a range of chic and sophisticated ensembles. From flowy pink dresses to edgy black jumpsuits, the fashion on display was as vibrant as the spirit of the event. As they settled into their seats, glasses of bubbly in hand, it was clear that these ladies had come to celebrate this fun and flirty brunch in style.

A Mouthwatering Brunch Event Menu

Indulgent celebrations always call for one essential element: mouthwatering food. And when it comes to a Galentine’s Day Birthday Brunch, there’s nothing quite like the taste of sweet strawberry French toast and an opulent single-tier birthday cake to ignite the taste buds, am I right? From the first bite to the last crumb, this brunch was a decadent delight.

I’m beyond grateful for the ladies who have poured into me over the past 37 years and who have helped me evolve into the woman I am today. I could not be more grateful, and I loved celebrating with them all during this Galentines Day brunch (planned by your favorite DC event planners, of course!).
